I originally ordered these slippers a half size larger (10) than my shoe size. I did this intending to wear them with socks AND to compensate for my very wide foot. (I take a 9.5 2E hiking shoe in another brand.) When I got the slippers, I found them to be tight over the instep and slightly short. So I packed them off to Zappos for an exchange. I ordered a size up (size 11) and the slippers were more to my size satisfaction (surprising since the advice on the site was to order a size down!) The slippers started off a bit stiff and with not as much cushioning on the bottom as I would have expected for all the ooohs and ahhhs that I had heard about UGGS. After about 3 weeks of wearing the slippers they are getting more comfortable each day, as they conform to my feet. They are still a bit snug fitting over the instep (this helps them stay on) and I feel that I can¡¯t wear them with socks as first intended. Maybe this will change as they stretch more and "break in" with time and use. I wo
